The New Orleans Hornets and the Sacramento Kings agree to a trade and it's all about cash.
New Orleans Hornets
Get: Carl Landry
Sacramento Kings
Get: Marcus Thornton and (straight) cash
My take on the Hornets: The Hornets need more bench punch and they got it with Landry. They had to give up Thornton who played well last year, but for some reason was riding the pine this year. Add to that, the cash, got it done. One of the Hornets owners was pissed about this deal because the Hornets brought in $2M in salary and they are already losing money.
My take on the Kings: C.R.E.A.M. This was about getting rid of Landry's contract and taking back Thornton (who may play) and more cash. The Kings need a decent guy to back up their SG spot, so maybe he'll get some run.
