Nelly Going Bye-Bye

It’s about time.  I can’t say that I haven’t ever enjoyed watching Don Nelson coached teams run and gun to many W’s, and their fair share of losses, but over the last few years, it’s been dreadful.  The new owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber have decided to pay Nelly $6M (the final year of his contract) and send him back to Hawaii for the rest of the year.  Keith Smart is probably going to be named as his successor and word is that he’ll get a new multi-year contract.  With the team that the Warriors have put together, they have to make sure that they have someone that can mold their talent.  With pieces like Stephen Curry, Monta Ellis, David Lee, and Andris Biedrins, this team has a good core.  With Ellis’ contract coming off the books in a few years, this team will have more flexibility.  Look for good things to be coming out of the Bay in the near future now that Nelly is out.
