NFL 2010 Week 16 Games Picks

Quick turnaround this week.  I missed the Dallas/Arizona (and I would have picked those sorry Cowboys) game completely because I've been putting toys and games together.  I'm ok with that, hope you are too.  Let's get to the picks quickly today.

New England @ Buffalo - Does anyone think the Bills have enough for this game?  Winner - Patriots

New York Jets @ Chicago - The Bears won the NFC Central and are primed for a let down, but I'm not sure the Jets are ready to step up to the plate.  I don't trust Cutler.  Winner - Jets.

Baltimore @ Cleveland - The Ravens better win this game.  They can't afford to take any steps backwards in the playoff seeding.  Winner - Ravens.

Tennessee @ Kansas City - A somewhat healthy Matt Cassel made a big difference for this Chiefs team last week and I think he'll do that again this week.  Winner - Chiefs.

San Francisco @ St. Louis - I want Singletary to win because he's a good guy, but Alex Smith will prevent that from happening.  Winner - Rams.

Detroit @ Miami - I think this Detroit team has finally put it together.  Nothing better than showing people that there is hope for the future.  Winner - Lions.

Washington @ Jacksonville - Shanahan is a punk.  He's never done anything without Elway and we're supposed to sit here and watch him screw over McNabb with these silly games.  I hope the Jaguars put up a 40 spot on these Redskins.  Winner - Jaguars.

Indianapolis @ Oakland - Long trip for the Colts and to a team that can run the ball.  That all spells trouble.  This is an upset pick because the Colts should win this game,....but...Winner - Raiders.

Houston @ Denver - The Texans have been terrible as of late and their season is in the trash.  Kubiak is certainly gone and the Broncos are starting the marvelous Tim Tebow for a second straight game.  Winner - Texans.

San Diego @ Cincinatti - The Chargers are charging and the Bengals are sucking again this year.  Winner - Chargers.

New York Giants @ Green Bay - Can the Giants close out a game?  I guess as long as Vick isn't on the field.  Winner - Giants.

Seattle @ Tampa Bay - The Bucs can't afford a set back.  Winner - Bucs.

Minnesota @ Philadelphia - The Vick Experience will be seen again today.  Let's see if Joe Webb can play ball again today.  Winner - Eagles

New Orleans @ Atlanta - Best game of the week.  Atlanta needs the win to seal their division championship and probably the home seeding for the playoffs.  Winner - Falcons

NFL 2010 Week 16 Thursday Night Pick

Another Thursday Night and a pretty easy game to pick. Let's start the week of good.

Pittsburgh @ Carolina - The Steelers are fighting for AFC North seeding and the Panthers are just not fighting. Even without Polamalu tonight the Steelers shouldn't have any problems with this game. Winner - Steelers.

I really think those streak busting Mavs should be higher than the Heat, at least right now and no it's not because of the game last night.  It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Magic and the Suns after the trade.  Dan Gilbert is somewhere about to buy you NYSTOM for putting his Cavs at the bottom of this list.

NBA Rumors 12-21-10

Sherron Collins - Should be back with the Bobcats after being recalled from the D-League.  My question is why is a kid with this much talent waffling in the D-League?  Folks in the Chi are blaming work ethic.  Someone find Collins and take him to the gym every day for the 6 months and get him back in shape.

J. R. Smith - I've been saying this for about 2 months now, the Bulls need a dynamic 2 guard that can shoot the 3 and get his own shot.  Enter Mr. Smith.  J.R., a former Bull, does have a few issues (he's a headcase), but he has a lot of talent and if the Nuggets do in fact trade Melo, they might as well blow up the team.  Enter the Chicago Bulls, who have inquired about Mr. Smith's availability.  Smith is in the last year of his deal ($6M this year) and would be an easy decision for the Bulls to try to acquire.  Worst case, you rent him for a half a year and let him go.  Best case, he provides some much needed scoring punch at the 2 (better than Bogans and Brewer) and you have to resign him in the off season.  Keep tabs on this one, I think this trade happens.

Carmelo Anthony - Supposedly the Nuggets-Nets discussions are being had again.  If this is true, Anthony must have backed off his insistence on not signing a long term deal.  Otherwise the Nets would be crazy to trade for Anthony.  These discussions have to happen because the Nuggets risk losing Anthony and getting nothing for him if he walks at the end of the year.

New Orleans Hornets - The NBA is the proud owner of the New Orleans Hornets and are looking for a buyer that will keep the team local.  I know it's not local, but Kansas City would welcome the Hornets with open arms.  Somebody go and get a check book, because it'll take somewhere around $300M to get the Hornets.

Vince Carter - Damaged goods?  Vince Carter looks like he'll need arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be out about 4 weeks.  All I can say is if the Phoenix trainers get Vince back in shape and healthy, he'll be able to play for years to come.  Now if they could only do something about his heart (yeah, that was a low blow).

Sore Backs - Chalk up Jamal Crawford and Craig Smith as two people with aching/sore backs that will be out of commission for a little while longer.

Taj Gibson - Will miss another game for the Bulls while recovering from a concussion.  Kurt Thomas will get the start.

Kendrick Perkins - May be back on the court sooner rather than later.  Perkins has gone through some drills and looks to be back in action at the end of January.  He still has some MRIs coming up, but he may be able to help the Celtics while both of the O'Neals (Shaq and Jermaine) recover from their injuries.  My advice to Perk is to take your time.  The Celtics don't need you right now, but they definitely will need you during the playoff run.  You don't want to be Andrew Bynum, remember.
