Again Plaxico?

If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's gotta be a duck. Plaxico Burress and teammate, Antonio Pierce, were out at a Manhattan night club. Somehow, Plaxico shoots himself in the leg with his own gun. His teammate Antonio Pierce tried to hide the gun (in New Jersey) as Burress was taken to a local NYC hospital. Since Burress didn't have a permit to carry in New York he will be brought up on felony weapon charges. The mandatory sentence in New York is 3 1/2 years.

What are these guys thinking? I mean Burress is married to an attorney. Shouldn't he have some sense? This story is still unfolding as we speak. Burress is scheduled to turn himself into New York police on Monday. His attorney, Ben Brafman, who represented P. Diddy a few years back said that Burress will cooperate with officials. With all of the problems Burress has caused in NY this year, and a possible mandatory sentence, I doubt you'll be seeing that #17 jersey on the field anytime soon.

What do you think is going to happen to Plaxico? Do you think that he actually shot himself unloading the gun for security before entering the Latin Quarter? Should you mix alcohol and guns together?

He should get what the laws mandate. He knew the risk. He chose to gamble and lost. He's waited months after his Florida permit expired to carry his gun and for what? Let's hope nothing else surfaces. If he wanted security hire a cop/ or body guard someone with a legal right to carry a concealed weapon. What can his not guilty plea be for? Insanity? Aggravated assault? The only thing that mixes well with alcohol is milk or fruit.

Another athlete, unfortunately another brother who can't find enough to do with his fame and fortune but throw it away...

I feel sorry for Antonio Pierce. Supposedly he didn't know the fool had a gun on him and was cussing him out when he found out he did. Pierce also might catch a charge because he supposedly took the gun out of NYC and back to NJ. He could get the same charge for trying to help his boy. I understand that some of Plax's friends had been held up in front of their house and other spots over the last week. Plax just signed a $35M deal, hire a security guard. Dayum!!!!

Sadly, he will probably get off. Where are the witnesses? The gun wasn't recoved in NY. He is rich and will hire a big time attorney. A few hours community service and a couple game ban by the Giants/NFL and he will be back in business. It frightens me to believe that clubs are letting folks in carrying glocks to have a few drinks.

No, I don't think he'll escape this time. Plenty of witnesses; the hospital ER his version of the story; Antonios version; the truth...only so many are willing to lie for another.
