NBA Round Up 9-13-08

Cleveland Cavaliers - Delonte West finally get his deal done. He signs a 3 year deal for $12.6M. The deal has some wiggle room for the Cavs in the third year, where they have the option to let West walk (with at least $500K) if they need the money to pay LeBron to stay. This works out for both sides since the Cavs stayed in that $4M a year range instead of going into the $5M range that West wanted.

Miami Heat - Chris Quinn finally picks the Heat's 2 year deal, imagine that. He had the option to sign a 1 year deal and be unrestricted next year, or sign a 2 year deal. He will have an opportunity to win the starting job through competition with Mario Chalmers and Marcus Banks.

Orlando Magic - Pat Garrity finally hangs them up. Garrity averaged 7.3 points and 2.6 boards per game over his 10 year career. He was really a 3 point specialist who helped stretch the floor for their bigs. Good luck on the next part of your life. The Magic also signed Mike Wilks to a one year deal a little north of $1M.

Portland Trail Blazers - Raef LaFrentz will have shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum that he sustained in a game against Seattle on February 22, 2008.
