Call it fate, a good decision, or whatever you want, but Shawne Merriman is being put on IR and that will end his season. I've pontificated about this before and I never wish ill will on anyone, so hearing that this guy won't further damage his knee is probably a blessing in disguise. I know he wants to play, you know he wants to play, and every other player in the NFL knows he wants to play, but sometimes things happen for a reason. Shawne, I'm wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Nothing like seeing a #56 coming off the edge to punish a quarterback.

Good News for Merriman
