NBA Round Up

Word is that Delonte West and the Cavs are still not in agreement with what he's worth. He wants upwards of $5M, the Cavs are trying to give him a deal similar to what Daniel 'Boobie' Gibson got, somewhere at the $4M a year range. Didn't the Cavs just get Mo Williams from the Bucks? Why even negotiate with this cat when you have Gibson also? I think West is a decent player, but I like Mo better (get the pun?). We'll see what happens. I'm sure someone out West is looking for a starting level point guard who can shoot.

While all of this is happening, the Cavs aren't sitting still and are planning on bringing Lorenzen Wright into the fold. That deal should be done soon. Wright can provide a veteran presence, since the Cavs lost Joe Smith in the Mo Williams deal.

Has Manu Ginobili hurt his chances for re-upping with the Spurs after re-injuring his ankle in the Olympics? I guess we'll see since negotiations that had started prior to his injury have been tabled for right now. Maybe playing for your country is the ultimate achievement, but I guess we'll see if it hurts his pockets.

Trade Watch: For all of you GMs out there, if you didn't get the memo, the billboard, the email, or the commercials that have been run (that's a joke people), Jamal Tinsley is available. You must act now and the Pacers will give you 0% interest for 60 months. No warranty will be included, but with a healthy knee, he's ready to drive.

Another Rumor: Ben Gordon may go overseas. Haven't we heard this one before? I mean didn't he try and leverage this threat after the Bulls told him 'no' to his request for $80M? Well it looks like Gordon may end up going to Russia for a year and then coming back and trying it all over again next year with the Bulls. Why can't his agent get across to him that a 6'3" streaky shooting guard, who doesn't play defense, isn't worth $80M? The Bulls have a deal on the table with him for $50M or $60M and I don't know what you're sitting on, but that's a lot of cash. Ben, get your head right. This whole thing would be different if he led the Bulls somewhere. So far they have been hanging out with me at the crib when the playoffs start.
