The Vikings have pulled the trigger and have given the reins of the team over to a new QB. With Tarvaris Jackson struggling and the Vikings feeling like this is their year, Gus Frerotte is now the man. Add to this the 0-2 start and many felt like Childress' job was on the line, so something had to happen. Frerotte is an upgrade over Jackson when it comes to drop back passing, but I think that this only makes the team marginally better. Yes, adding Favre to this team would have been nothing short of a coup and rocketed the Vikes to elite status, but it wasn't meant to be. You have to think that Chris Simms could have been a decent upgrade, even over Frerotte. So, the Vikings head into week 3, hoping to turn it around (sounds like my fantasy team). Let's see how this move goes.

Next Batter Up
